8 #YesAllWomen Tweets You Need to Read

The Twittersphere is responding to the Isla Vista tragedy with a heartfelt hashtag that sheds light on the violence that threatens all women—not just the victims.

Chances are, you've heard about the Isla Vista, California, tragedy that resulted in seven fatalities last Friday night: Santa Barbara City College student Elliot Rodger, 22, stabbed three people, shot three others, and then turned his gun on himself—in response to what he says were years of sexual rejection that made him feel inferior.

Now Twitter users are responding with tweets containing the hashtag #YesAllWomen to shed light on the sexual violence, sexism, and fear that all women—not just victims of this senseless crime—face regularly. An astounding 1,571,762 tweets and counting have gone out with the hashtag, according to Topsy.com Here are some of the tweets that affected us the most:
