You've done the walk of shame, right? No, not that one—we're talking about that nervous stroll to the restroom at work with a tampon hidden in your sleeve because it's time to change it yet you don't want your coworkers to see you carrying a new one out in the open. We've all done it, but think about it: Isn't it strange that in an era when women can be open about pretty much any body-related topic, we still don't want to be seen with a tampon in our hand?
To end this tampon weirdness, the ladies behind HelloFlo (the period care package company that made those hilarious Camp Gyno and Half Moon Party commercials) have come up with a social media-focused campaign called "Free Your Sleeves." As HelloFlo's site explains, "The next time you shove your tampon up your sleeve on the way to the ladies' room, think about that why it's such a secret. We may not create a league of women walking to the bathroom waving their tampons, but we might get people to realize that they're just tools we use in our daily lives."
With this in mind, they've created the hashtag #tamponliberation and are asking women to post a snap of themselves posing with a tampon out in the open. Here are some of our favorites:

With any hope, tampons will soon be like aspirin, Band-Aids, and cough drops—not a huge deal.
