Relationships Get Juicier with Age, Says Amy Poehler

Relationships Get Juicier with Age, Says Amy Poehler

The best is yet to come, my friend.

We've always hoped that there comes a point when we stop kissing losers and start seeing serious relationship material, and now Amy Poehler is verifying that there is hope for those of us who have left a trail of undateable guys behind. According to one of our favorite funny ladies, the quality of relationships seriously improves as we age.

"I find my relationships at 40-plus are really emulsified, juicy relationships because you have more of a sense of who you are and who you want to be around," Amy said in a recent interview with People.

This makes total sense. When you know yourself and have a solid idea of what you want and don't want in a partner, it makes the people you choose to date a hell of a lot more interesting than if you don't. When you're still feeling things out, you might end up getting stuck with one of these nine people you should absolutely never date.

And it appears the super successful actress, producer, and author knows she needs to be with a guy who respects her skills instead of being intimidated by them. She continues, "Talented men are not threatened by talented women. They welcome them. And same way with real men," she says. "If you're a strong woman and your man likes that, then he's a real man. If you're with someone who asks you to turn your light down, he's a weaker person and you should get away from him." Truth.
