Pro race-car driver Danica Patrick recently told Women's Health that to stay in shape, she does CrossFit whenever she can. We applaud anyone who can keep up with those grueling workouts—but especially a woman who juggles being the most successful American female racer, co-starring in high-speed music videos, and repping a badass open-air vehicle called the Spyder.
So, how does Danica stay motivated to work out? It's pretty simple: She looks ahead to basking in that amazing post-workout feeling. "[It's] the mantra of 'I'll thank myself later,'" she says. "Other than that, I think the best thing to keep you motivated is some kind of goal—book a vacation." (Um, maybe one that's slightly slower-paced than her excursion to Monaco with Jay-Z and Dale Earnhardt Jr.)
One final tip: When it comes to diet, Danica's a fan of the everything-in-moderation rule. "But," she adds, "you can pretty much go to town on salads and protein."
