SoulCycle isn't just about transforming your body through indoor cycling—it's also about transforming the way you feel. And while the positive mantras painted on studio walls and the candles burning at the front of the room definitely play into that, the music also gets you pumped up in a major way. Janet Fitzgerald, a senior master instructor at SoulCycle, is the studio's unofficial music guru (and that's definitely saying something since SoulCycle is the exclusive fitness partner of Beats by Dre).
"I only do the playlist the morning of," says Fitzgerald. "I do it like that so it can be as close to how I'm feeling that day; I really feel like that's important because if I'm feeling my music then I know my riders will be able to feel it, too. Also, I never use a playlist twice." Here, she shares a 45-minute playlist she created exclusively for Women's Health readers:
1. Ellie Goulding, "Figure 8"
2. Harvey McKay, "Phone Freaker"
3. Skrillex, "Recess"
4. Zedd, "Find You" (feat. Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant)
5. Owl Vision, "Holy Sh*t" (Original Mix)
6. Dillon Francis & DJ Snake, "Get Low"
7. Madonna, "Give It 2 Me" (Eddie Amador Club)
8. Miley Cyrus, "My Darlin'" (feat. Future)
9. 30 Seconds to Mars, "Closer to the Edge"
