I'm just finding out how tough it is to do the long-distance thing. How can we spice things up?

Step one: Avoid update overload. I know it may feel hard to rein in the constant chatter. But if you spend all day texting and Gchatting about life's trivial details, you'll suck the excitement out of your post-work conversations.
Step two: Be creative with Skype. Cook the same meal and eat it together, or challenge her to a round of strip poker.
Finally, step three: Think outside the digital world. Mailing physical objects--anything from love notes to sex toys that you want to imagine her using--will cut the distance in a way no text or e-mail ever could.
