10 Things We Know About Pitch Perfect 2 So Far

10 Things We Know About Pitch Perfect 2 So Far

Your aca-attention, please.

The Pitch Perfect 2 trailer has arrived, and you must see it. (We're Dixie Chicks serious.)

As Fat Amy would say: Crushed it.

Are you a major Pitch Perfect fan? The sequel won't hit theaters until May 15, 2015 (ugh, we know), so here are 10 Pitch Perfect 2 pieces of intel to help you make it through until spring:

1. Nationals Are No Biggie Anymore
This time around, the a cappella competition is going down at the world championships. Which, apparently, isn't so good for the Bellas. No team from the U.S. has ever won because, as commentators John and Gail explain in the new trailer, the whole world hates America.

2. Elizabeth Banks Is Directing
Speaking of hilarious commentator Gail… Elizabeth Banks is back not only in front of the camera and as a producer—this time she's directing the movie, too. LOVE. HER.

3. Another Thing That's Back? The Song "Cups"
And if you watched that trailer above, you know this new rendition is going to be epic.

4. Don't Worry: Anna Camp and Brittany Snow Aren't Going Anywhere
Elizabeth Banks told Yahoo! that Beca, Fat Amy, and the gang are seniors in the sequel, but that doesn't mean their former Barden Bella leaders won't be around. Aubrey, Anna's character, is now a graduate and shows what life can be like post-Bellas, according to Entertainment Weekly (EW). Chloe, played by Brittany, hasn't quite gotten her diploma yet. “Because Chloe is so passionate about singing and being a part of the Bellas and being a part of a family, she intentionally failed [for] four years," Brittany told EW.

5. Fresh Faces Are Joining the Cast, Too
True Grit actress Hailee Steinfeld and Sons of Anarchy actress Katey Sagal are both part of the #PP2 crew.

6. We're Taking a Trip to Aca-Boot Camp
When The Ellen Show visited the set of the movie over the summer, we learned that the Bellas head to aca-boot camp during the sequel. Quick, random poll: Who would be a more intimidating boot camp instructor—one from Barry's or Aubrey?

7. Rebel Wilson Delivers Again with the Fat Amy One-Liners
That's judging by two things: 1) What she puts forth in the new trailer ("I could be the ham in that man's sandwich.") 2) Trust. Or don't you remember the first movie?...

8. Benji Brings the Magic (Tricks)
Or at least, that's what we've surmised based on the fiery action he's involved in around the 1:55 mark of the trailer. And that's what we're hoping because performing magic makes Benji happy, and we never want to have to hear him sadly sing "Keep Your Head Up" to himself in bed again while everyone else parties—it gets us all kinds of emotional.

9. Bumper and Fat Amy Are Going to Hook Up
It seems pretty evident from their ROFL-worthy exchange at the end of the new trailer, and EW confirms it.

10. There Will Be Another Riff-Off (!!!)
To remind you why this news—courtesy of EW—is so freaking exciting, we'll leave you with this video. We out.
