This New Viagra Ad Features A Woman—and That's All

No cowboys or couples were involved in the making of this commercial.

The typical commercial for Viagra, the popular erectile dysfunction medication, usually consists of a manly man doing manly things or an older(ish) couple going on dates, laughing, and dancing. Their newest ad, though, is kind of fascinating in that it features none of the above.

Instead, the one-minute ad focuses on a gorgeous woman in a blue dress—in what looks like a tropical resort commercial—lying on a bed, chatting about erections and erectile dysfunction. No dude in sight. Oh yeah, and she's British.

"So guys, it’s just you and your honey, the setting is perfect, but then erectile dysfunction happens again," says the actress in the commercial. "You know what? Plenty of guys have this issue, not just getting an erection but keeping it."

So what's up with the bold new approach? It could be that they're trying to show that if you can't get it up you're missing out on getting down with someone like her. But another big takeaway from this commercial is that guys aren't the only ones affected when things (literally) go south downstairs—it impacts both partners. He's embarrassed, you're disappointed, and you're both unhappy. If the problem persists, it can lead to a lot of frustration in the relationship.

Because this is an issue that affects both of you, here are seven things that might mess with his erection, and five things that can help his penis work better.
