All right, all right, all right! We finally get the scoop on what made Matthew McConaughey feel totally ready to walk down the aisle.
"I had to get to the point where I saw [getting married] as more than just the thing to do," Matthew tells GQ as part of this month's cover story. "I wanted to really want to. You know, I didn't want it to be a destination; the fun is that we're on the adventure together."
Right, got it: Life is a journey, not a destination. When the pair got married in 2012, they had already had two of their three children. So what made the Oscar winner finally come to the conclusion that he didn't just think he should get married, but he actually, you know, wanted to? "[Camila and I] talked about it spiritually," he says. "We did a lot of reading and talked to a lot of people that had been divorced, a lot of people that had been happily married. We talked to our pastor. In the end, our understanding was, 'Let's go make a covenant, with you, me, and God.'"
Oh wait, there was also one more thing...
Matthew says that Camila gave him a little old-school nudging. "Look, some of it had to do with her putting it on me," he confesses. "It took her going, 'C'mon, Big Boy, Mr. Easygoing-We'll-Get-to-It-When-We-Get-to-It. Either s— or get off the pot.'"

Ah, yes. You can talk and talk, but sometimes you have to draw a line in the bohemian beach sand and make it clear that all that talking is actually leading somewhere. With love, of course. And while serious ultimatums are often a really bad idea, having an honest conversation with your partner about how you want to spend the rest of your lives together is pretty crucial.
In the end, does it really matter how you got to that moment where you exchange rings and kiss your first kiss as newlyweds? After all, as Matthew would surely agree, it's all just part of the adventure.
