How Far Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki Ran During the U.S. Open

How Far Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki Ran During the U.S. Open

Overall, one ran more than a 5-K, the other more than a 10-K. Can you guess which one is which?

Serena Williams, a.k.a. Queen of the Tennis Court, won the U.S. Open yesterday, defeating Caroline Wozniacki (her good friend!). The victory marks Serena's third consecutive U.S. Open title and 18th Grand Slam singles title. Amazing, right?

Tennis clearly requires strength and speed. But also, distance! If you think tennis players don't cover much ground because they've got to stick to a rectangular box, then you're clearly not doing the math. Check out our pin-able image below to learn just how much running Serena and Caroline did throughout the U.S. Open, data courtesy of IBM's SlamTracker. Fun fact: Caroline ran nearly double Serena's mileage (6.8 miles over the whole tournament to Serena's 3.6)!
