What Jennifer Aniston Says About All the Pressure on Her to Become a Mom

What Jennifer Aniston Says About All the Pressure on Her to Become a Mom

Steal it the next time your nosy aunt starts prying about your personal life.

If you think it's annoying when your great aunt twice removed starts hounding you about when you're going to get married and/or have kids, just think about what Jennifer Aniston goes through: Despite her successful acting career (and amazing hair!), Jen says she constantly fields questions about whether she's getting married, if she's pregnant, or if she plans to have children. The star addressed all of the above in a recent interview with Carson Daly on Today, and we have to say we love her response.

"I don't have this sort of checklist of things that have to be done, and if I don't, if they're not checked, then I've failed some part of my feminism or my being a woman or my worth and my value as a woman," Jennifer says in the interview. "Because I haven't, you know, birthed a child. ... I've birthed a lot of things, and I feel like I've mothered many things. And I don't think it's fair to put that pressure on people."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves! Marriage and motherhood are great accomplishments if they're ones you choose to pursue—but they're by no means necessary milestones that all women need to hit to prove their self-worth.
