If you haven't seen Robin Thicke's latest public plea to reconcile with his ex wife Paula Patton (aka his music video for "Get Her Back") then get ready to be blown away. The video featuress Robin looking forlorn, unshaven, and bleeding (is he OK?!), as he sings about how he's gotta get Paula back. It would be totally romantic, but he's also surrounded by a bunch of half-naked women carrassing his face and body, which is a little awkward.

But here's the strangest part: Interspersed with close-up shots of his face are what seem to be text messages between Robin and Paula during their breakup. In one exchange, we see "I wrote a whole album about you" followed by "I don’t care." Ouch.
This grand gesture definitely seems like a raw and honest plea on Robin's part, but the text messages had us cringing a little bit (like "you ruined everything" and "how could you do this to me"). After all, divorce is hard enough without seeing your text messages play on MTV. But it's also totally possible that these aren't the couple's real exchanges and they were just added in for the video's storyline.
Getting back together with an ex is always a tough and sensitive decision, and it certainly seems like Robin is putting in the work to show that he's sincere. That said, relationship experts warn that grand gestures such as this don't always mean that a person has changed.
