Ikea is responsible for furnishing bedrooms across the world—and now the company wants to know what goes on inside of them, too: Ikea recently surveyed people in eight major cities around the globe about their morning routines—and found that couples in Moscow are slightly more likely to have morning sex than lovebirds in other cities.
For the Life at Home Report, conducted by Ikea, the company surveyed 8,292 people—about 1,000 participants each from New York, Berlin, London, Paris, Shanghai, Moscow, Stockholm, and Mumbai. While just nine percent of kid-free couples in New York said they have sex when they wake up (slightly higher than the worldwide average of six percent), 14 percent of pairs in Moscow said they get it on in the a.m. (Shanghai came in last place with just one percent.) The number of couples who cuddle in bed in the morning is also startlingly low: 17 percent worldwide and 15 percent in New York. In fact, 51 percent of pairs worldwide say they don't even talk in the a.m. (that's about in line with the 50 percent of coupled-up people in New York who said the same).
