If you think cherries taste perfect on their own, you're in for a pleasant surprise: They also make a ridiculously good smoothie ingredient. Get this summer fruit while you can—they're only in season for a brief time—and treat yourself to one of the most delicious cherry smoothies we saw on Instagram this week:
Blended bananas, pears, and frozen cherries make @missnaturallyashley's smoothie a must-sip that's super-easy to make.
A smoothie that tastes like pie? Sign us up. @cynthiawillbefit's recipe is made with frozen cherries, frozen mangos, flax seed, chia seeds, vanilla protein powder, and almond milk. This one's also topped with coconut whipped cream. (To make it, let full-fat coconut milk sit overnight, scoop the cream out, then whip it with vanilla extract and maple syrup.)
Not all cherry smoothies are cherry-colored. @halalla's green smoothie is made from frozen bananas, kale, hemp powder, and cherries. Delish!
This might look like a chocolate shake, but don't let your eyes deceive you. @MyHealthyHome's mason jar is full chock full of cherries—along with almond milk, flax seed, chia seeds, unsweetened shredded coconut, cocoa powder, stevia, and ice.
Delicious smoothie-making isn't rocket science. @bysaber whipped these up with four ingredients: cherries, grapes, bananas, and coconut water. So simple, so good.
Greek yogurt makes this cherry treat extra filling. Just ask @priscillamtizwa92, who made it with frozen bananas, spinach, cherries, almond milk, Greek yogurt, and water.
@clarepalm's swirled smoothie is a two-in-one: The first part is made from blended cherries, blueberries, and strawberries. The second part contains frozen banana, dates, cocoa powder, and vanilla protein powder. And the best part? A cherry on top.
Frozen pineapple makes @bessbeehealthy's frozen cherry, banana, spinach, almond milk, coconut oil, and vanilla protein powder smoothie taste extra sweet. (And the cacoa nibs sprinkled on top don't hurt, either.)
Chia seeds make @aninkyaffair's icy smoothie extra thick. It's made from frozen mango, black cherries, coconut water, ice, chia seeds, and water.
@largebreedlodging says this smoothie tastes likes chocolate-covered cherries…but she had us at "Nutella"—it's one of the ingredients in this cherry, banana, almond milk, and coconut water ice cube smoothie.
Love making smoothies? Next week, we'll be highlighting our favorite smoothies made with blackberries. Tag @WomensHealthMag in your #blackberrysmoothie photos on Instagram for the chance to be featured on our site. Just be sure to include the entire recipe in the caption so we know what we're looking at. Good luck!
