5 Awesome Apricot Smoothies

5 Awesome Apricot Smoothies

This golden fruit makes a surprisingly good smoothie ingredient. But don't take our word for it...

Apricots may look like tiny peaches, but they actually make a much better smoothie ingredient than their fuzzy cousins. While peaches may be juicier, fresh apricots (and dried ones, too) make for thicker, more filling smoothies. Of course, they're also healthy: Apricots are full of vitamin C and fiber to support eye health and digestion. The best part: Unlike peaches, you don't need to wait until summertime to enjoy them.

Ready to dig in? Dust off your blender and try one of the most delicious-looking apricot smoothies we saw on Instagram this week:

We can't think of anything more refreshing than this icy apricot, peach, basil, and lime smoothie.

@Gizellefitnesstour nailed this green apricot smoothie, made with apricots, chilled green tea, pineapple, green apples, celery, and key lime Greek yogurt. (And who doesn't love a good curly straw?!)

We can't decide which part of this triple-layer(!) smoothie looks tastiest. To try it out for yourself, combine a frozen banana with water for the first layer; mix frozen strawberries with some first-layer leftovers for the second layer; and blend with dried apricots, half a banana, and a splash of almond milk for the top one. Garnish with coconut flakes.

@Brusselsvegan sweetens this smoothie with apricot jam and dried apricots. Add frozen bananas, half an apricot-almond snack bar, vanilla extract, and water to taste.

This "sunset smoothie" is (clearly) overflowing with fruity goodness. The bottom half is made with apricots, mango, frozen strawberries, and water. The top half contains blueberries, a banana, dried apricots, and another splash of H2O, along with some shredded coconut, nuts, and dried apricots for garnish.

Are you a smoothie maven? Prove it! Tag @WomensHealthMag in your tastiest looking #MangoSmoothie, and we may feature it on our site. Be sure to include the entire recipe in the caption so we know what we’re looking at. Then, check back next Wednesday to see if your recipe made the cut.
