Tomorrow, Gloria Steinem—a legendary leader of the women's liberation movement and founder of Ms. Magazine—will turn 80. And it should come as no surprise that she's just as outspoken, wise, and glamorous as ever. Case in point: In her recent interview with the New York Times, Gloria says she's actually pretty happy about her waning libido: "The brain cells that used to be obsessed are now free for all kinds of great things," says Gloria. "I try to tell younger women that, but they don't believe me. When I was young I wouldn't have believed it either."
And that's not all Gloria is thankful for when it comes to romance into your eighties: "Your old lovers become really old lovers, and you can't remember who broke up with who, or who got mad at who—just that the two of you remember things that no one else in the world does."

You can't get much more glass-half-full than that, can you? In fact, Gloria noted that she recently met a young man and thought, "If I was younger, we'd have had a great passionate affair for two years and been friends the rest of our lives." We would so love to read that headline, but she says it was merely an observation. "I didn't regret it. That's the advantage of shifting hormones."
