There's nothing like a 97-year-old woman kicking butt in the gym to make you realize you have absolutely zero excuses to not get fit or maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Even though she's nearing 100, Edna hits the gym regularly with her trainers, Anton Mackey and Caitlin Turner, in the greater Phoenix area. And luckily for us, both trainers have been Instagraming videos of Edna doing her thing. She cranks out squats, lunges, pushups, and stability ball exercises like nobody's business—all with the biggest smile on her face. See for yourself:
Seriously, we would love to be her workout buddy. Edna tells Turner, "Never let yourself get weak." Obviously she hasn't. Check out some more of Edna's workout moves, and get ready to put that gym membership to good use.
Are those pink leopard-print pants?! Want.
She can't stop smiling at the camera!
Doing pushups like a boss!
Edna's proof that if you make fitness a regular part of your life now, you can continue the habit well into old age. And that gives you tons of health benefits: It will keep your mobility up, and studies show that exercise can help give your brain a boost, which can help stave off cognitive decline as you age.
