What Daniel Radcliffe Looks Like with Long, Wavy Hair

What Daniel Radcliffe Looks Like with Long, Wavy Hair

Plus, why it’s making him sympathize with women more

Daniel Radcliffe appeared at the WhatsOnStage Awards on Sunday looking very un-Harry Potter-like. The actor first showed off longer locks in December, per Us Weekly. But he’s now giving us a glimpse of what that shoulder-length hair look likes when it’s tousled.

The reason behind the length? He’s currently wearing hair extensions for his role as Igor in the upcoming film Frankenstein, he told the The Telegraph.

"I don't mind how it looks, but I mind dealing with it,” Daniel told the publication. “I don't know why any man would have it voluntarily. The amount of work it takes, having to dry it—doing anything to it is a f------ nightmare. I do have a whole new sympathy for women. I wouldn't be growing my hair this long in my own time."

We appreciate your sympathy, Daniel. So for you—and for women everywhere—we asked Women’s Health beauty editor Jill Percia for some tips on how to cut down on the amount of time you spend taming your hair:

Dry Shampoo Is Your Friend!
“The longer hair is, the more time it takes to wash, dry, and style it…and that's a chore, in my book. Shampoo every other day (or every two days, if you can stretch it that long), and blast roots with a dry shampoo to freshen up in between washes. Try Pantene Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo, $7.99, drugstore.com.”

Master the Quickie (Blowout, That Is)
“When I'm pressed for time or too tired to do a professional-caliber blowout (like, when my arms are sore from my workout), I only smooth areas that need it the most: those baby curly hairs around my hairline, my front pieces (or bangs, if you have them), and my straggly ends. Even if the mid-lengths are slightly wavy, you'll still look polished and chic.”

Deep Condition Regularly
“The healthier, shinier, and smoother your hair is, the less of a struggle it'll be trying to make it look good. That's why I always make time for a once-weekly moisturizing mask (I like Clear Scalp & Hair Intense Hydration Deep Hydrating Treatment Mask, $5.49, drugstore.com). Just apply to damp hair from root to tips, then rinse after three to five minutes. (I sometimes leave it in overnight, though).”
